The Chancel Guild

The Chancel Guild of St. Mary's plays an important role in our worship services. Our duties include: setting the altars for communion services; cleaning the brass collection plates, candle sticks, missal stands and flower vases; arranging the altar flowers; delivering altar flowers to parishioners; and laundering the small pieces of linen.

Currently, we have three teams; each team is on duty for two consecutive weeks out of a six-week rotation. We have three evening meetings per year usually before major Church festivals (March, September and December).

The entire Guild works together to decorate the church for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. As a group, we also make delicious steamed puddings to sell at the Christmas Bazaar. For fundraisers, we have sponsored "Roses for Someone Special" on Mother's Day and "Sundaes on Sunday" on Father's Day.

We are a hard-working, friendly group of various ages.
