St. Mary's Choir sings a favourite anthem that asks the question "Who Will Teach the Children?" Here at St. Mary's the question is answered by a small, but dedicated group of teachers, some great young people as helpers and a group of loyal nursery volunteers.

If you've ever wondered what happens after the students leave the Church during the singing of the gospel hymn, the following explanation should help.

bulletWe start our time together with prayer often read by the students themselves. The candles are lit and we begin with different activities.
bulletThe story of the day is based on one of the readings for that Sunday. We try and find different ways of presenting the story so that the students are actively involved.
bulletWe sing songs connected with the theme and often with accompanying actions.
bulletNow is the time for our crafts - finger painting, models, decorations and many other fun things which you may have seen when you come into the Parish Hall.
bulletWe are summoned to communion by one of the candle bearers. If we are not always right on time we are probably disengaging ourselves from our crafts!
bulletTime is taken for a short snack, preceded by a grace.
bulletOur time together finishes with prayer. This includes intercessions written by the girls and boys and placed in our prayer house. The closing prayer is read by one of the students.

Up in the nursery our youngest students are playing games with the volunteers.

Our volunteers are too numerous to mention here and we are grateful for all of them.
We always welcome newcomers to our group - come in and see us any Sunday.
Who will teach the children? We all have a part in telling them the good news!
